Boys Achievement classes

 

 Participation in gymnastics helps children become physically active, and stay fit and healthy. Our Achievement classes focus on the importance of becoming strong, flexible and coordinated, all with a strong emphasis on having a great time!

 

 

  • Gymnastics builds a perfect foundation. There is no sport that teaches basic fundamental athletic skills better than gymnastics classes, especially for young kids who lack the motor and cognitive skills for team ball sports. In class, your child will learn to run, jump, and balance, to develop his coordination and body awareness and to become stronger and more flexible. These basic athletics skills are then transferable to any sport they choose to play as they get older. Or, if they opt out of sports all together, they will have a foundation for fitness.

 

  • Gymnastics Classes are the perfect cross training activity. If your child is already involved in another sports program, gymnastics is a perfect way to enhance conditioning by building up athleticism. By participating in gymnastics, your child will become stronger, more flexible, more agile and have a better sense of where their body is in the air, all resulting in an overall improvement in his fitness and athleticism.

 

  • Gymnastics Classes are the perfect injury prevention program. Two of the most common ways kids get injured in sports are from sprains or strained muscles and from falling. Gymnastics classes are useful in helping kids avoid sprains and strains because it teaches kids to warm up properly and it helps them increase their flexibility (two of the main reasons sprains and strains occur). Additionally, there is no better place to learn to fall than in a gymnastics gym! Part of any core curriculum in all of our programs is learning how to fall safely.

 

 

These classes are designed for school-aged boys (5-15), and range from beginner to advanced. Gymnasts cycle through the six events (high bar, parallel bars, pommel horse, rings, floor, vault), as well as learn to safely use the trampoline. Strength and flexibility training is incorporated in every lesson, and safety is a focus in every class!
